Description

A rich and decadent dessert with layers of chocolate mousse and a chocolate cake base.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 8 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
  • 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake base and let it cool.
  2. Melt the semisweet chocolate and let it cool.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and add melted chocolate.
  4. In another bowl, whip the cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  5. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Repeat the melting and folding process with the milk chocolate and then the white chocolate.
  7. Layer the mousses on top of the chocolate cake.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours until set.
  9. Serve chilled, garnished with chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • For best results, use high-quality chocolate.
  • Allow the cake to chill overnight for improved flavor.
  • Can be topped with whipped cream and berries for presentation.
