- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 cups marinara sauce (sugar-free)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned.
- Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, stir well, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and spinach.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, and then a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms.
