- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded English cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to boil. Cook the elbow macaroni until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Add mustard powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the sauce.
- Mix in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni, cauliflower, and crumbled bacon.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with additional cheese if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
