- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, salt, and sugar.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until onions are caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the caramelized onions, sour cream, cream cheese, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Mix well until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and chives.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve with chips or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add some chopped jalapeños.
- This dip can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
