Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cacao powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cacao powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the cream cheese mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fill each muffin liner about halfway with batter, then add a dollop of cream cheese filling, and top with more batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter muffin, add chocolate chips to the batter.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
